Mark and Jane Hollingsworth welcome you to their home. Pheasants Roost is situated on the south shore of Rutland Water, just outside the pretty village of Manton.
You will be invited to share the wonders and views of the SMALLEST COUNTY in England, Rutland and Rutland Water, along with a feast of the delicious flavours of the rare breed fare which Pheasants Roost smallholding produces.
Jane and Mark welcome you into their beautifully appointed house and want you to feel instantly that Pheasants Roost is a home from home with that little bit extra so you can indulge yourself. Real pride is taken in providing the delicious home grown breakfast that is cooked by Jane and if you have any dietary difficulties please don’t hesitate as she specialises in gluten and dairy free. Pheasants Roost has a spacious lounge on the ground floor overlooking the “friends” garden area with patio. A marble staircase leads to the lounge with the views of Rutland Water, nature reserve lagoons and surrounding countryside. If you'd like a relaxing, comfortable stay in beautiful surroundings with warm and friendly people, look no further.
The cycle track directly outside Pheasants Roost takes you around the circumference of Rutland Water (or to the Horse and Jockey pub in Manton village). Manton village has buses that run to and from the quaint towns of Uppingham and Oakham twice an hour.
Within walking distance, Rutland’s famous Nature Reserve and Osprey Observation Centre, Rutland Water Golf Course, Rutland Sailing Club and Rutland Cycling, Inspire2tri triathlete training centre, The Horse and Jockey pub and Rutland Water Garden Centre with Wellies cafe.
Just a few minutes by car from Pheasants Roost you can visit Rutland Water’s fishing lodge, Normanton Church, Whitwell Watersport Centre, Hambleton Bakery, Rutland Falconry, Bugtopia and many more places of interest.
We may be the smallest county but we are packed with things to do and don’t forget the world famous Bird Fair in August and Burghley Horse Trials held at Burghley house in the beautiful Historic town of Stamford just 12 minutes by car
“Others may do it, but Pheasants Roost does it really well”
